Too many things can be said on this matter. I’m sure you’ve read lots of muslims’ views on this. Here, read one from an Israeli:

I hope this article can open more eyes and make more people aware of the injustice.

This. You remember this?
If - by Rudyard Kipling (1865-1936)
If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don’t deal in lies,
Or being hated, don’t give way to hating,
And yet don’t look too good, nor talk too wise:
If you can dream - and not make dreams your master,
If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build ‘em up with worn-out tools:
If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it all on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breath a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: “Hold on!”
If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with kings - nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,
And - which is more - you’ll be a Man, my son!
I learnt this poem as part of my literature syllabus in Form 4. I used to like it very much. But I’ve forgotten all about it until recently, when I gave a part of this poem to a friend. She’s been fired.
….
Okay. Bubye. I need to continue doing that Langendorff thing. Lol. Why does it take so long for me to finish those three questions, anyway…?
Eh.. wait, before I go. I found this a few days ago:
Ohno et al. investigated the transplantation of skeletal myoblasts and vascular smooth muscle into the hearts of cardiomyopathic hamsters, showing that vascular smooth muscle cells from cardiomyopathic donors are not suitable for transplantation, unlike skeletal myoblasts from the same donors (Ohno et al., 2003) …..bla bla bla….. On the basis of this experiment, Ohno et al. also elaborated a method of cell cryostorage…. bla bla bla…

Whose name did you see?
Hehe.

I want to be doing my courseworks right now. But I can’t concentrate. So here I am. Ranting.
Right.
Lots of people are feeling miserable lately. And for some reason, it makes me feel the same way as well. Sometimes you can’t feel truly happy when you notice the people around you being down… right? Would you feel like laughing when someone beside you is crying? Of course not.
There are academic problems, relationship problems, problems arising from differences in views, etc etc. I wish I could do something. Haha. But I’m helpless when it came to comforting people. Seriously.
Like, just now. Me and my dissertation partner were supposed to meet up to finish the dissertation. But just before that, we got our practical test result, and he failed.
He’ll have to resit. Gosh. I know how annoying that is. There’re so many things coming up next week, and there’ll also be another test for another module. And he looked so down just now I didn’t know what to say. I just stayed quiet. Lol at my helpless-ness. -_-
And, there’s this thing that’s been bothering me.
You know how some parents like to push their children to do something that they children don’t want to do…? I know sometimes it’s necessary, but… I wish they’d stop doing that. Unless, if it is *truly* for ‘the good of their children’s future’. Duh.
But, forcing their kids to choose a certain course that they don’t like, telling them to study overseas when they don’t even want to… I don’t think it’s the right thing to do…
I don’t know about other people, but for me… I’ll only have the desire to do something if I like to do it. I take pharmacy because I like chemistry, and becoz drugs seem very interesting to me. (lol) I know the law bits are very boring, but since it’s an essential part of it, I’ll cope with it.
The Principle of my secondary school urged me to take Medicine instead, but I just smiled and ignored her.
But you can’t do that to your parents don’t you…? *sigh*
I know of some people who are distressed because of this. I don’t know what to say to them…
But. They’ve made the decision to follow the path that their parents wanted them to. I guess the only option is to keep on with the path… Because the price of turning back is just too high…
When we become parents one day… let’s not do this to our kids… (I hope I remember this XD) I know it’s natural to have high expectations, but… what’s the point of forcing them…?
*sigh*
Hehe. Okay. On a lighter note. Remember this?
“i am sorry, but True in the past Islam was a light in the darkness in terms of education. However, your religion has brought about no additions to humanity’s understanding in the past few centuries or so.”
It is one of the comments that I saw from a video on Youtube. When Muslims Ruled in Europe. Actually it should be something like ‘When the Moors Ruled in Spain’ but never mind. It’s a good one, so go watch it!
Thanks Aqilah for recommending me this video!
What do you think when you saw it? Doesn’t it make you feel like you want to proof that the commentor was wrong?
I felt that way as well. But there’s this tiny part of me that can’t help agreeing to that statement. Slightly. l-lol.
When I see comments like this: “Islam should be wiped off the map of Europe. EUROPEANS FOR CHRISTIANITY! EUROPEAN JEWS FOR MESSIANIC JUDAISM!” I’ll just roll my eyes. Whatever, right? There’s no need to bother yourself with idiots extremists like this.
But yes, there’re quite a lot of people saying that the muslims these days are… well… to put it bluntly… ‘useless’. That we don’t contribute much to society. That we have gone down the hill since then.
Haha. What can we do about this?
I’ll have you answer that yourself. My head feels heavy and I feel like lying down for a bit. Or maybe I should continue reading that Langendorff thing. Ugh.
With that, I bid you bye-bye.
Salam~
Theehe. Kotoba no chikara. If you’re an Arashi fan, you’d recognise it instantly, I bet. XD
Kotoba no chikara. The power of words. Also, the theme of Arashi’s 2007 concert. lol.
Words. Songs. Philosophy. Famous quotes. The Quran.
In this age, in this era, songs have become a part of people’s everyday life. Songs can symbolise a person’s identity, affect our emotions, give inspirations or may even influence the way we think, and thus our way of life.
It seriously scared me when I read in newspapers that people liking different genres of music actually hate each other so much that they ended up killing one another. I was like… WTH??!! It’s something that shouldn’t have happened… And the murderers were teenagers. But that doesn’t surprise me… It’s the stage when people are most easily influenced by a wild idea, or any idea at all, actually…
Hehe. Coz when I was at that stage, I remember being easily attracted to things that I didn’t understand. I played games, I read manga. Consequently I became exposed to stuffs like Greek and Roman mythology, the Tarot, Astrology, stories of the Middle Ages, and, therefore I read quite a lot of history books. Gosh, am I not a geek? XD
That’s when I started to have interests in philosophy. And I liked to read famous quotes too. But. Someone then told me - we muslims have Quran as guidance. Why would we need to hold on to other humans’ philosophy and ideology? We have the best ‘ideology’. Ad-Din *the* way of life. A complete, comprehensive, code of life.
And I agree. Philosophies have so many weaknesses. Some of them make me laugh becoz of the ludicrosity. It’s just an ideology created by us imperfect humans after all…
But. That doesn’t mean that we should reject everything…right?
I listen to songs everyday. And among those songs, there are several that are inspiring. And sometimes, when I feel down, I’ll listen to them, digesting the pieces of advices in the lyrics and tell myself to be more optimistic. Not all of them should be taken seriously, of course. But I’ll choose whatever I think is appropriate and keep that in mind.
I know some people think that music are no good. My late grandmother for example, she doesn’t enjoy music, and wouldn’t even watch the TV in Ramadan (becoz of all forms of entertainment, eg: music, in it).
Cool, isn’t it…? That’s something that I can’t achieve… In fact I haven’t even made any effort to achieve that… ^^;; I’ve grown up listening to various songs… And I see music as a ‘booster’. I seriously find it hard to study without music, especially when I’m doing math. I find it really fun to sing out loud while doing math. It’s just… an old habit. XD
So yeah, I have earphones in my ears when I go out, study, or even in lectures. XD Sometimes when I got too sleepy, I’d turn on the music while keeping the volume low so that I can still hear the lecture. But when I was in secondary school, I simply listened to the radio and ignored whatever the teachers were saying in the assembly. ;P
The power of words is remarkable. It can instill any kind of emotions. So, I’m kinda glad that I’m at least hooked up to… erm, shall I say… a ‘positive’ kind of music, if such as thing exists. LOL.
Imagine if I’m addicted to black metal…
…..
It’s okay if you’re not influenced by it.. but… for me, just listening to the songs already gives me a negative emotion; I got… annoyed. XD I dunno why, but that’s just it. I guess it doesn’t give the same effect to everyone otherwise people won’t be listening to it at all… lol.
And there are also stories of songs that induce people to commit suicide… -_- And songs filled with sexual innuendos. And songs about hatred and frustration. Just… be careful with what you’re hooked up to… Though… Actually I do listen to those kinds of songs too. I can say that I’m not really affected by the lyrics, coz basically I only like the music… But who knows…? If we keep listening to it everyday… the words might start to creep into our brain… and do stuffs that are just *not* good.
But… to kill in the name of music… Isn’t that sad? That’s what happen when you don’t have a greater purpose in life… I guess. Very sad.
I started attending usrah here in Cardiff since last year. Right from the very beginning. At that time, I was a newcomer here. Far away from home, with lots of problems. What’s with the bank account problem, money problem, homesickness, lack of internet connection in my room, etc etc. I was constantly depressed then.
In those depressing times when I was feeling a bit lost, we discussed about al-Inshirah. Verses 4 and 5 were especially appealing to me then. Here’s the translation:
So, verily, with the hardship, there is relief. Verily, with the hardship, there’ is relief. (94 : 4-5)
Twice, it was repeated, stressing its importance. So again and again, I told myself that there’s a silver lining to everything that’s happened. ‘Try’ to be optimistic, yes.
And then… there’s Yoda’s famous quote from Star Wars: “Do or do not. There’s no ‘try’.” I kinda like this one. It basically means.. if you want to do it, then just go for it with full force. Don’t go doing it half-heartedly, thinking that you were only ‘trying’. Coz people will use that as an excuse when they fail.
And currently, here’s one of my favourites:
“Follow what’s right” then take one step forward.
Separate the results, the dark and light.
So, let’s find out the hints of living.
And have the power to hold even the hazy mirage.
I’ll give you five stars if you can guess where it comes from. Hint: It’s from a song. ;p
Oh and look at this comment that i found on youtube:
“i am sorry, but True in the past Islam was a light in the darkness in terms of education. However, your religion has brought about no additions to humanity’s understanding in the past few centuries or so.”
It’s annoying to read this kind of comment, isn’t it?
R-Right. I’ll talk about that later. It’s 1 am already and I should wake up early for tomorrow’s programme. It’s ISK, people! And I’m in the organising team. Funny. XD It’s a good thing I’m not a facilitator. LOL. I seriously can’t imagine myself being one. XDDD
Nite! ^^
Salam wbt! ![]()
Haven’t been here for like… 3 months? XD It’s ok though. It’s not like anyone’s missing me here. Hehe. And I’ve lost interest in friendster/facebook too…
Actually I’ve wanted to put an entry since Obama won the election. Hehe. His backgroud has so much variety so I thought that he’d be an interesting person. His background basically covers all the continent; his mother’s white: so you can say that represents America, Europe and Australia (coz they all originally come from Europe anyway), and his father’s from Africa… Kenya, is it? And, he had attended a school in Indonesia, representing Asia. And he’s got ‘Hussein’ in his name as well. Doesn’t it just sound perfect?
But… lol. Al-Qaeda still hates him. They say he’s a puppet. You know what, that might be possible, of course. His background is too good. It’s what people would want in this kind of time. So, the probability of having him win is quite high… I guess? Although of course, since it’s US, the level of victory isn’t as high as BN did in Malaysia.. lol. And he hadn’t got the majority he needed to ensure that Republicans can’t rule out the legislation that his people put forth.
But I kinda have very high hopes for him. I like him, ever since I first heard about him. And I’m sure lots of people share this feeling. It’s been such a looooong campaign, and it must’ve consumed loooooots of money. I hope it’s worth it.
And.
Recently I had a conversation with my housemates about differences in the clothing between the Muslim women in Malaysia, and Nigeria. Two of my housemates used to live with this Nigerian girl. In her culture, they consider it as a *must* to cover the head. But they don’t seem to mind to expose their cleavage.. And when she saw Pak Lah’s late wife, she was shocked that she didn’t wear the hijab. She thought that as the PM’s wife, she should at least cover her head.
Er, what I’m trying to say is… For her, it’s better to expose the cleavage rather than the hair. But.. for us - or at least me - it’s better to expose hair rather than you chest. Right…? Well, yeah, both aren’t considered good in Islam, but you get what I mean…? I guess lots of people do it in their country, so they see it as a normal thing…? I’d blanch if I see someone in Malaysia wearing the hijab while wearing such a low cut neckline. lol~
Actually, my main point is, what people see as right or wrong is heavily influenced by the way things normally are around them.
And from here, I’d like to bring forth this issue that I’ve been so interested in since I went to a Spring camp over 6 months ago…
Islamic banking in Malaysia. You know, when you say Islamic banking, what most people would concentrate on is: it’s interest-free. So, when you make loans, there’d be no interest, so it should be less burdensome, ya?
Not really.
I know I’m not qualified enough to say anything in this matter, but… From what I learnt in my secondary school, interest is forbidden in Islam coz many people (like the loan sharks) put such a high interest rate that, by the time people can pay the money back, they’ll need to pay many many times higher than the amount that they actually borrowed. So yeah, it’s very oppressive. And baaad. So that’s why it was forbidden.
So people say Islamic banking in the good way to go, coz interest are bad. But, what’s the case if people end up having to pay much higher when they choose Islamic banking compared to what they would’ve needed to pay if they choose conventional banking?
Let’s say you want to buy a house. And you make a loan with a conventional bank and have to pay them monthly until the next 30 years. Because of the interest rate set up by the bank, by the end of the payment period, you would’ve paid, let’s say, RM 650 000.
And, in Islamic banking, you would do the ‘akad beli’ with the bank. And the bank will do another ‘akad beli’ with the house owner. Let’s say the bank buy it from the house owner for RM 300 000. Then, the bank will sell it to you for RM 700 000. You’ll hav to pay this amount little by little, for the next 30 years. No interest is involed here. But, it ended up being more expensive isn’t it?
So I ask you, which one is more evilll? The conventional system? Or the ‘islamic’ banking system?
Well, some of you would say; both are bad. Heh. Do you know why there’s an interest rate? Do you know how they determine the interest rate? I know the answer would be ‘yes’ for those of you taking economics. ;D (I love AS level econs~)
Okay. Based on my meager knowledge of economics, the interest rate depends on the inflation rate (among other things). Most countries have inflation every year, and it’s almost impossible to get zero inflation (though some countries did actually get deflation… but it’s rare…) I’m sure your parents would’ve told you how, in the good old days, nasi lemak would cost them only like, 10 cents? But now, one serving of nasi lemak can cost as much as RM 1.50, especially if you’re in KL. In about 50 years, the price went up by 15 times…
So, if you borrow 10 cents from someone 50 years ago, you could’ve bought yourself a good lunch from his/her money. Let’s say you only return the money now, and give him/her 10 cents… what could she/he buy…? You can’t even buy a drink with that money.. So isn’t it unfair to the person you’re borrowing money from?
That’s the idea of interest rate in conventional banking. It usually takes tens of years for average people to pay their house loan. So that’s why, if you pay RM 300 000 to the bank, it’s unfair to the bank.
But…. why is it that Islamic banking makes people pay higher than conventional banking…? Aren’t they the ones being oppressive here? Aren’y they simply using the name ‘islam’ to attract people to their bank?
Interest was forbidden coz it’s oppressive, but in our times, the problem is, the whole world is being controlled by this conventional system. Things will always get more expensive eventually, and interests are there to make things ‘even’. We can’t escape from this system, coz it’s not Muslims who are controlling the world financial system…
I’ve talked about this to people of the older generation, and as you’d expect… They sided with the islamic banking. lol. I guess, since they’ve been told that islamic banking is the good way to go, they just stick to that. That’s fine though, it’s their money after all… But yeah, I don’t agree with whatever that’s more oppressive… So that’s it, I guess…If I were to buy a house/car, I’d use the conventional system if islamic banking hasn’t changed its oppressive habit. ;p
Do you have an opinion on this…?
**Arashi alert**
Theehee.. I can’t resist mentioning this. Remember how I was ranting about Maou? (a.k.a. Ohno’s 1st leading role in drama)
Well… it was quite a heavy drama. Murders, and revenge and all that. So I was worried about how people will accept it. I mean, most girls like comedy + romance, and they are usually the ones that affect the rating. And Maou’s got competition from Yamapi’s drama; Code Blue. Yamapi, as all you J-drama fans would’ve known, is a much ‘veteran’ actor compared to Ohno. So the rating wasn’t very high for Maou… And I felt bad for Ohno…
But.
Maou won the Nikkan Sports Award 2008 for Best Drama!! And Ohno won best actor!!\:D/
Ohno normally looks blur. So, to have that changed into a cold-blooded murderer, it’s cool isn’t it? It’s interesting, and I guess most people felt the same. That’s why he won the award, I guess? Or because Arashi fans are voting maniacs. Hehe.
Right. On that note, bubye~~
Salam w.b.t.
I’m back with more rants. LOL.
First of all. Last week debate between Dato’ Seri Anwar and Datuk Ahmad Shabery Cheek! XD Did anyone watch it? I enjoyed it! So much! They’re good debaters, aren’t they? I know *I* could never do that. LOL. I’ll just stand there stammering and blushing like an idiot. XDD
They’re both good… but I prefer Anwar. LOL. He’s got some very good points when he spoke! And he did mention that the oil price will only increase up to a certain point, in which it would stop increasing, and will start to FALL. And walla! In the next few days, suddenly the world oil price DROPPED! I was like… o.O He must’ve been a really good economics student… As an ex-economics student, I’m impressed! XDDD
Erm… I didn’t like the other guy’s way of bringing up Anwar’s past. But… I was shocked.. I dunno if I misunderstood or anything, but… does it mean that Anwar was *against* the formation of Petronas? I don’t think it’s a good idea to let Shell continue monopolizing the country’s oil… So it’s good when Razak (if I’m not mistaken) wanted to form Petronas. I do have a feeling Anwar is rather… Pro-West after all… ^^; And now he’s in custody again… I do hope he’s really innocent against his charges, though…
But hey… I’ve seen him appearing in BBC quite a lot recently. LOL. I dunno… but from what I noticed, Malaysia would only appear in BBC because of our politics condition. And in most of them, Anwar will be in it! After all, the West likes him. I don’t know of I’ve mentioned this before, but he’s been voted as their favourite eastern politician some years ago, before the scandal thing. (Well… I don’t really remember if it was ‘eastern politician’ or ‘Asian politician’ but it’s something like that…)
It’s kinda… embarassing, I think, that we’d only appear in BBC because of the political turmoils here. It’d give the idea that Malaysia is not a very peaceful country, ya? But then again… when a country appears in the news in another countries, it’s usually about politics, isn’t it? Well. Most of the time.
OK. Let’s forget politics. I’m gonna start ramblings now. XDDD
Books. I’ve started to read a number of books since the past few weeks. Surprising, isn’t it? LOL. Here’s my top 3 favourites.
3. The Book of Destinies. A book filled with craps about Tarot, Cartomancy, Palmistry, Numerology, Astrology, Pendulums… you know… those sorts of craps. I bought it many years ago, when I started to develop interest in Tarot cards. Now that I’ve watched Maou, I’m again interested in it! XD The Tarot cards are vital clues on who’s going to be killed next. Hehe. And probably how the victim’s going to be killed. Heheh. Did I mention before that Ohno looks super-cool in this drama?
2. 1001 Prescription Drugs. I know. You must be thinking, "Wtf?? It’s holiday, why is she revising??" LOL. The thing is… I’d start doing a placement in a pharmacy tomorrow. Weeks and weeks of doing nothing except watching Arashi videos did make my brain rust a bit. So I had to revise otherwise I’d be totally clueless when I’m working. I even spent some time to read the powerpoint slides that my lecturers had prepared. XDDD
1. Here’s my currently favourite book:
Yep. The Sealed Nectar. A biography of the Prophet, pbuh. I just bought this 2 days ago! ♥ Some of you must’ve heard about it already. I think. It’s famous and had won some sort of award before. I’ve only read like…. the 1st chapter so far. LOL. But I enjoyed it!
Basically the first part consists of accounts of the Prophet’s (pbuh) ancestors. And the history of the Arabs. And urm… as you’d expect… lots of wars. They had wars with the Persians, and the Romans. And the Greeks also, when they were still on top. That is… during Alex’s time (Alex = Alexander the Great XDD). The Arabs… they do like to fight… don’t they..? And a bit conceited too. But not all of them are bad, of course. It’s just… for those of them that ARE bad, you’d feel like beating them to a pulp. Humph.
Okay. Just ignore that. Back to the book.
I like it cause it has lots of stories that I haven’t heard before. And there were also references. And it’s hard cover you know. But it’s only like… RM 43! Cheap, isn’t it? Even normal paperback novels cost almost RM 40 these days… I guess.. they have to make it cheap, otherwise people don’t really tend to buy them…
That’s how people are these days… Including me, I think… ^^;
Okay. I’m off now. If you’re a J-drama fan, go watch Maou!!! Because Ohno looks awesome in it! XD
Bubye~
Salam.
Lately, the front covers of local newspapers show the stories of FITNAH of you-know-who. And all of a sudden, Buletin Utama re-told the stories of Aisyah r.a. and the fitnah people threw on her. At first I thought it was funny… but it means that this thing is getting serious, right? And it worries me…
Suddenly so many stories started sprouting and I just rolled my eyes. One day a guy swears someone did this and that, then the next day the news said he swears what he said was just a lie.
Duh…
But yeah… so many stories. I don’t know which to believe anymore. People would think that the swearing-guy told the truth when he said he’d been lying. But who knows? Perhaps it was during the first story that he was telling the truth? Although personally, I don’t want to believe him at all… Lidah bercabang.
And then I came across this Hadith in Saifulislam:
“Sesungguhnya akan tiba
tahun-tahun yang dipenuhi dengan tipu daya, pada waktu itu si pembohong
dianggap benar dan yang jujur dianggap pendusta, pengkhianat diberi
amanah dan orang kepercayaan dituduh pengkhianat dan Ruwaibidhah
berucap sesukanya (yang seakan-akan bijak dan benar). Para sahabat
bertanya: Siapakah Ruwaibidhah itu? Baginda menjawab: Orang bodoh yang
berucap tentang urusan orang ramai.” (Hadith Riwayat Ahmad 15/37-38 dengan syarahan dan tahqiq oleh Ahmad Syakir. Isnadnya hasan dan matannya sahih)
Well. It’s not like it’s a new thing, huh? This sort of thing had been occuring since time immemorial. It had even happened during Khulafa ar-Rasyidin’s time even. So, it shouldn’t be a surprise. But to have it happen NOW, in MY era, in MY country makes me feel sort of anxious…
And then there’s that story about US *big* plan…
Uh… Politics is complicated, huh?
Speaking of politics… It was a novel that first made me interested in it. LOL. It’s fun reading about people in that novel plotting against each other and somehow it made me started reading about the politics in real life. Though I never bothered to delve in too deep…
Anyway, about that novel. Wheel of Time. Have you heard about it? Well. It’s actually the name of a series of on-going genius novels by Robert Jordan. If you’d known me since I was in secondary school, you had most likely seen me reading this novel. Hehe. Yes, its one of those thick 900-pages novels that I liked to bury myself in. The latest one was book number 11: Knife of Dreams. The next book is hopefully coming out next year.
Ah. Sorry for boring you with the book-ranting. XDD
But the series is SERIOUSLY awesome, I tell you. I like it much much much much more than Lord of the Ring.
Erm.. Okay… So why did I start talking about that book anyway?
Erm… looking back at the title of this post: the truth is getting blurred. Yeah. That’s true isn’t it? Pro-government people would side with the government stories, a.k.a the stories we see on the TV @ pro-govt newspapers. While the anti-gov will have their own belief, I suppose? What about me who’s still standing in-between..? Seriously I need to pick a side soon… Or not?
*****ARASHI alert******
But hey.. Arashi’s new single is coming out!! Title: Truth. Oh I luv the song~ XD
It’s the opening song for Ohno’s new drama: Maou. Go watch it, people!!! I think I’ll like it as much as Death Note. (Yes, it’s *that* kind of story: A story of supposedly ‘good’ people with warped sense of justice. Not a boring, stereotypical lovey-dovey drama.)
And Ohno’s acting as the bad guy. Which is why I’ve been dying to watch it since like… 2 months ago? XDD
Erk. Okay. I’m off. Bye~
Salam…
15 May. The day of my Ph 1106 exam (which I hope I did okay..)
And also.. the day of Nakba.
Pernah dengar x istilah ni? Dgn malunya aku mengaku… I didn’t know about it until last week. Nakba means calamity/disaster. It refers to the the occupation of Palestine by the Zionists. And how the Palestinians were brutally killed and kicked out of their homes, by the people who claimed that it used to be their home. Israel sekarang diiktiraf satu negara yang sah.. tapi macam mana pulak dgn Palestin?
I’ve known the history of Israel for quite some time already, actually. I know about British’s and UN’s involvement. I know about Zionism (just a bit though). But somehow the term Nakba escaped me. And neither did I pay attention to the date. (If I can remember Ohno’s birthday why can’t I remember this date?) Well.. so now you know too.. Now you know about the Day of Nakba.
The Jews… they’re kinda amazing aren’t they? I used to read in old story books (like Shakespeare’s) of how they used to be hated by the westerners. They like to keep to themselves, and were depicted as being ‘dirty’, ‘liars’ and ‘uncivilised’. They were foreigners, no matter where they go in the west. Now look at them. How far have they gone up? Since the end of WW2, since they’ve got Israel to themselves.. they’ve made themselves one of the top in the world.
They won the world’s sympathy through the Holocaust. And lots of people seem to be on their favour because of it. But they.. after getting their own power.. did something similar to the Palestinians.. Isn’t that… bastard-ish?
No one deserves to be treated in such a way.. I wouldn’t even say that the Jews deserved to be Holocaust-ed by the Nazis. But what the Israelites are doing to the Palestinians is just plain wrong. It’s just as evil - or more evil - than Holocaust. And it’s really unfair too… Coz not many people in the world right now show their sympathy, not as much as they did for the Jews and the Holocaust. And isn’t it the media’s fault?
You know what… about a month ago.. I read a news in BBC, of how an Israel guy was convicted of leaking some very confidential government (or was it military?) information to Israel. That guy was apparently from Israel, but he got American nationality a few decades ago. And it turned out that he was in the US simply to be a SPY.
Well, well. We ALL know that US and Israel are close buddies, right? The US gave millions of dollars to Israel, and no matter how much of a bad boy Israel has become, the US never bothered to scold (i.e. attack) Israel coz they’re close buddies. But what do you know? The buddy is actually stabbing on the other buddy’s back. "It’s not something that someone would do to a friend." NB: This is what a top US official said regarding this matter. And I couldn’t help but laugh evilly. (well, perhaps not exactly word by word, coz I forgot the exact words, but the meaning is the same)
So, now you know their true nature. And take note that the spy had been doing his stuff for decades. Who knows… perhaps Israel had been sending spies since the day they become ‘friends’? And.. this is the one that has been caught. I’m sure there are more. I vaguely remember about another Israel spy being caught.. but I don’t remember too well. It’s a one-month-old news, after all.. And I’ve been cramming my head with pharmacy stuff… And.. I won’t be surprised if the US has their own spy in Israel either. XD
It’s politics. And it’s dirty.
Well.. actually the point of my post this time is to ask you guys to be aware of the situation in Palestine. But I ended up mengumpat US and Israel pulak. Heheh.. Can’t help it. But I’m not saying that all people in US and Israel are bad, okay? But the politicians.. they are dirty. Well… not all politicians are dirty, either. Ah well.. whatever, I guess. I have no right to judge people.. I’m no good myself..
That’s all… I guess.. Read this if you have time.

And think about it. What can we do? The thought of going to Palestine and join the militants don’t really appeal to me…
So… for now.. let’s just do the lamest thing that we can do. That is.. to keep donating. And hope that it would really help them.. Somehow..
salam wbt..
Have you heard of this phrase:
"May you live in exciting time."
What do you think about it? if someone said this to me, i’d be like, "Heck, yeah! Exciting time’s good!" XD
But guess what..? This phrase - which was used by chinese - is actually used to *curse* someone. ‘exciting time’ refers to times of turmoil, war, & fighting. Tim Wallace-Murphy, 2006. What Islam did to Us. (gotta do proper referencing. don’t want to be accused of plagiarism!) XDD
that’s how things are now, isn’t it..? i’ve been reading BBC almost everyday.. and NEVER a day passed where there’s no news about fighting. there’s too much of them that i’ve gotten used to it now. that’s not good, isn’t it? getting *used to* news about death…
and.. regarding the movie ‘Fitna’ by that wilder guy.. have u seen it? if u haven’t - and have the guts to see it - go find it on youtube. there’s too much of them there.. and yesterday, i came across this video called Schism. apparently, it’s a counter-attack for Fitna. So, as u can probably guess, Schism shows violent videos of christians extremists and how the bible also ‘promotes war & terrorism’.
but at the end of the video, the maker (i forgot his name) admitted what he just shown on the video was all just craps. no one has the right to simply pick up a few verses here and there from other’s religious book and claim that, *that* religion promotes war. that’s just sooooo wrong.
and as for the violent videos… well.. let’s just say that the fault doesn’t lie with the religion itself, but on the people *claiming* to follow the religion. isn’t that obvious? i guess everyone who has a functioning brain can figure out this much. XD
oh yeah.. as for the book that i mentioned above.. ‘What Islam did to Us’… I like it! some of the ideas in it are really controversial, but i enjoy reading what he wrote, coz he wrote them based on evidence. apparently, it’s a book that has inspired Dan Brown’s ‘The da Vinci Code’ so i think u can guess what sorts of stuff u can get from the book. i’ll definitely try to finish reading the book. once exam’s over, that is.. (nanti nak pinjam buku tu ek, Mai! ^^)
that’s all on this topic. i’ll talk about something else now. ^^
———–do not proceed if u’re not an arashi fan or do not give a damn on who arashi is———–
if u’re an arashi fan.. i’ll bet that you’ve noticed the MASS DEMOLITION of arashi’s videos on youtube. even the arashi videos that i put on my Friendster profile and my LJ journal had been removed! T____T
and a few days ago, i came across this video:
YouTube (…and Kat-tun) VS Arashi
it’s super FUNNYYYYY~~!! XDDDD i luv it~ but gomen ne, Kat-Tun fans! XD
but really.. i wonder why they suddenly remove sooooooo many arashi videos all of a sudden.. my life will be less fun now.. T_T perhaps they know that people like me should be studying instead of watching arashi videos on youtube. yes yes. that must be it.. they’re worried about my well-being. how touching. tch.
ok ok. i.should.stop!! PH1106 lecture notes are waiting for meee~~~
